I purchased AquaForest Amino Acid, Powder. Following the directions on the Instructions, but it doesn’t tell me how often to dose. IE, every day, once a week, or some other schedule. I’m trying to replace Kent Coral-Vite.

That's a good point. If you have sufficient nutrients then you don't need aminos. Since I've stopped dosing aminos and just rely on fish poop my corals have taken off huge with growth and color.

Yeah heavy fish feeding is basically the other route. I do both :)

I do this method too

Just from my experience. In an unestablished reef tank, the aminos will cause nutrient issues. I may try in the future as my first time was years ago with Red Sea product. The one that is really bright green and cool when dosed just caused red cyano

I dose small amount of concentrated phyto feast daily for my filter feeders. That's it now.

Thanks, I have the Powder, that you mix. I would think it’s the same. As I’m supposed to Dose with the lights out. The last Kent Coral-Vite, I got, noticed the Iodine Spiked. Not sure if it’s the Coral-Vite, or combination of something else.

PS you can dose aminos at any time. I actually prefer it in the day time, especially when I am feeding my fish.

Just something to keep an eye on regarding dosing amino acids in a low nutrient environment. The absent nutrients feed (desirable) surface competitors. If you starve them, you end up with dinoflagellates. If you keep dosing aminos you end up with hordes of dinos. Don't go 0/0 on nitrates and phosphates. If you do, then you will have to read my (too long) article on how to dig out from dinos. Ain't a fun read; ain't a fun process.

I’m going to dose the Amino Acid every three days. I’ll dose the Kent Purple Tech, then the Coral-Vite the other two days for now, and carefully watch the Tanks. Trying to substitute the Coral-Vite, as it’s expensive, for the little bottle. I‘m think my Iodine Spiked due to the Seaweed, I picked up, even though that was back in July.
