ammonia and dosing prime in QT

I have 5 fish in a 20 gallon QT running a HOB filter with media from DT. I am also dosing prime. Why does my ammonia alert badge and my ammonia tester still show ammonia? Does prime neutralize ammonia but it still shows up when tested with alert badge and API test kit?

I can move my fish into another tank 2-nite but TTM protocal has them moving at 7:00am Saturday oct 2nd. I did SEE spots on my foxface yesterday... they have fallen off and he is spot free. He has one more Tank transfer on Saturday Oct 2nd then in DT on Tuesday Oc 5th.

Please send confirmation as to why I am seeing Ammonia in a tank that I am dosing prime and have provided seeded bio media?

Yes, it is common topic so you'll find many threads talking about how use of Prime has just invalidated your ability to accurately test ammonia.

so is my tank safe even with the current ammonia reading? I don't see any conclusive?
