Im having an Spike of ammonia and nitrite cuz told my mom to de freezes 1 cube but she throws the entire cube to the nano tank and now im having 0.25 of both this is with API test.. i did a water change the same day she throw the cube and put some bacterias that was tuesday, I test today and still have the same and nitrates on 50 i put more bacteria today i have this tank running for almost 4 weeks, I have corals and a pair of watchman with candy i dont want to lose anything.. Would you guys recommend to wait and let the bacteria runs or use prime another water change ? i dont know..

I have a bag of gfo in the filter media basket

Water changes and time will fix the problem. I wouldn't worry to much about the ammonia reading with the API test kit, they are notorious for reading 0.25 even when there is no ammonia.

I would change 2 gallons of water every other day until your nitrates get to around 10 ppm. Just don't panic or do anything drastic and everything should be fine. :)

I get that a 10g is small, but should 1 cube if food really cause a nitrite spike if the tank is cycled? Adding a bit of Prime to be safe will never hurt.

^^^ that yep. API ammonia tests can be misleading. And your nitrates at 50 aren't going to kill anything quickly unless you grow sps from what I've learned.

With that said, 4 weeks old, your tank is still cooking. I would recommend not adding any more livestock for another few weeks because your cycle may still be in it's late stages. The good news is that it sounds like you are fixing to have a very healthy nitrafying bacteria base for your tank

And also to mirror what islandLifeReef has mentioned, the best piece of advice I've ever been given: Are your fish dead? Is your tank leaking? No? Calm down, crack a beer and do a water change. Sometimes we make problems worse by over reacting. We are our own worst enemies in this hobby. You did right by asking here before going crazy with changes.

Im going to test tomorrow at work.. i post a video in my instagram of wednesday feeding the watchman and the candy shrimp @christ_nanoreef and today everything looks good but i haven’t seen the goby i get home to late and he hides to much
