Ammonia and Nitrite Spike

Hello again!
So i'm about 2 weeks into my cycle using dry rock and the dead shrimp method. I expected ammonia to spike to 4 - 6 ppm, but it didn't happen.

ammonia spiked a little on day 5 or 6 from 0.25 to 1.5 and stayed there for almost a week. at the end of that week nitrites were at 0.1 mg/l. yesterday nitrites were up to 0.5 and ammonia still 1.5. today ammonia is 0.5 nitrites 0.1 nitrates 2 mg/l. is this normal or should i expect a spike later on? thanks all

Sounds fairly normal. You want both to be zero before you start adding things and then go slowly as they may spike up again if you add stuff too quickly.
