Wondering if I should use Dr. Tims ammonium chloride? I'm going on second follow and wondering if my tank will know what to do with ammonia? I already have the bottle I used for a different tank startup. Would it hurt to see what happens?

It would affect the other inhabitants of your tank.

A small quantity of ammonia won’t hurt but you’d have to dose very carefully. At some level ammonia could nuke your tank by killing the nitrifying bacteria.

You’re much better occasionally adding a few cubes of frozen food and let your biofilter work. Overall even without almost any food it’s unlikely the nitrifying bacteria would die in ~70 days.

I've been using reef chili and brine shrimp one time a week and adding phosphate and nitrogen daily to stay above o.00 readings.
