Hey guys
Quarantine ongoing for my sailfin tang, Copper is at therapeutic level now (0.43).It’s been in there for a week so far. I’m using a 40 gallon long with an appropriately rated canister filter that has noodles and SeaChem matrix in it which cycled complete for 2.5 weeks before I added the fish.

The SeaChem ammonia badge has gone to green today (alert). I’m getting the water change ready. I suspect the cause is all the fish poop lying in a pile under his PVC pipe which I need to siphon out.

Question, would you guys normally stop feeding until I get the ammonia down? Or keep feeding after the WC?

I'd say still feed. Copper already suppresses the fishes appetite. Just keep an eye on the ammonia levels.

Ok thank you :) I’ll feed Half the amount but I’ll split it into more regular meals then

Do you have a Hannah copper checker? My QT has been struggling with water parameters and I've been doing water changes to fix it. I'll pull 10g and, knowing that, dose 10 ml of Copper Power right before I put in the new 10g. I then give it an hour to mix fully and recheck copper levels. That has consistently maintained it within range and I can't imagine allows any Ich time to escape....

Yes I did get one! It’s been soooooo good. Much much better than the SeaChem test kit which was difficult to read.
