Hi everyone I did my first test and I’m just not sure about my ammonia level. Could someone tell me if this looks okay?

With API there is no way to be sure its accurate at lower levels. You could have ammonia or not. Looks ok. Nice shade of green. KInda like a light phyto solution. Im not sure what you are going for so what ok is hard to say

Okay I’m not sure either.. according to the directions it is supposed to be 0 which it the top colour but mine seems more like the second which has me a bit worried.

How long has the tank with rock been running and what kinda of rock?

I set up my aquarium 4 weeks ago as of tomorrow. It was dry rock and live sand. I introduced my first fish, 1 coral, 2 hermit crabs and 2 snails a week ago.

If the fish has been in for more than 1 day then your tank is fine. If not it would be dead very quickly. WIth a small tank, water changes will be your best friend. They can fix a lot of things. API will show .25 ammonia when you have none. Right now, just enjoy the tank.

I really like the red sea bundle test kits, they are easy to refill, easy to read and precise.

It looks like a tiny value is still there.
It is probably close to target (possibly too soon for sensitive creatures). Tank raised and hardy fish that does not require deep ocean purity in the water column should be fine though - you cannot put live caught fishes inthere unless you make sure it is a false positive :)

Oh thank you so much! I’m worrying so much about these little guys! Haha. If you don’t mind I’d like to know also if my domino looks ok? He was totally black when I got him and now his head is getting silvery/brownish more and more each day it seems. He is eating fine.

It is really beautiful (and so alert and cute at the same time) on the pictures... perhaps someone with actual experience with dominos can tell you what is going on :)

Yeah he is super cute and so full of life. I just hope he is okay. One person said they change silvery so I hope that’s all thats happening. Anyone else able to confirm this isn’t a disease or illness?

With domino's usually the head is the last to turn black. Maybe yours wants to be different. I think its fine. Clowns will be clowns.,.....

Haha okay thanks. He is super small maybe inch and a half long nose to tail? He was all black when I got him now he is turning this colour. It’s not a growth it’s like the scales are turning colour or something
