My ammonia is 1.2 ppm I’m going to do everything I can to bring it down how quickly can my fish die I have 2 clownfish and possum wrasse

The clowns should be ok.....the wrasse I dont know....do large water changes......maybe add some chems to bring ammon down......

Do you have spare saltwater? Do a 50% water change right away. Add Seachem prime. How old is your tank?

Seachem Prime does not appear to be useful for ammonia, despite Seachem’s age old but never justified or demonstrated claims about it.

1 year old I have been dosing seachem now and also added bacteria that will hopefully get rid of the ammonia my phosphate went to .2, also also did like a 40% water change

I hope the wrasse lives I am trying my best

The bacteria and water change may, Seachem Prime will not.

Why are you measuring ammonia at all in a year old tank??
I suspect testing error.
Phosphates of 0.2 will not do anything to harm fish.

Looks like it was a bacteria bloom the the cloudiness went away after 2 days.
A bloom may cause a temporary ammonia spike but your nitrifying bacteria should take care of it. If you have sufficient filtration also. Water change and add some more nitrifying bacteria and you should be fine unless you see fish gasping at the surface.

Thoughts on Ammolock pls, (as I use that for both fresh (pond) and my tanks)....never failed me yet......
Pretty sure ammolock does bind ammonia. I do question the need to use chemicals to do this, when nature will do it, given patience. Emergency set ups excepted.

Can you be sure what would have happened without it?

How does a bacterial bloom cause an ammonia spike?
