So I ordered the Tropic Marin test kits to try, and I'm pretty happy with them. They are easy, quick, and appear to be accurate. One thing I noticed though and have a question about is the Ammonia color chart (below). I noticed that the lowest reading here is 0.02ppm while other test kits have a 0 reading....which is ideally what you want your ammonia to be.

Seeing as it's so close to zero, would this be an acceptable number to test against and be considered close enough to just be called zero? I know this might be a kind of silly question, but it kind of had me curious.

I tried that kit once a if memory serves me correct zero had almost no color.

Oh, that makes sense. So essentially if it's lighter than the 0.02 reading it's obviously lower and almost no color would be zero. Yeah it was my first time using these kits and I've never seen that before (all the ones I've used in the past go to 0). Thanks!

Guess I could have (and probably will now) test some fresh mixed SW water and see.
