Hi guys, I’m a bit confused about this ammonia ppm numbers as I have seen conflicting things online about what is a safe level, I have a test kit which shows a colour indicator. Could anyone tell me which numbers are safe/ tolerable to marine fish Thank u

NH3 should be at 0, but the API tests for total (NH3 plus NH4), so not really indicative. My TAN was around 2-4, while free ammonia (NH3) was at 0 (tested at the LFS via a different test) and thus the water was safe for fish at that stage. But of course, to be on the safe side, wait till TAN goes down to 0.
