Ammonia to cycle with live rock/pods?

I'm starting my cycle with my 125g tank. I ordered fritz ammonia. I'm starting with dry rock, 80 lbs dry sand with 20lbs live sand. I'll be adding live sand from one of my current tanks to the fuge section of the sump, and a cup or two into the display along with live rocks from my tanks into the sump and maybe one or two into the display to seed.

Question is, will adding ammonia kill the sand and rock and any pods? Should I wait and set up the fuge after adding the ammonia and the bio spira

if you already have a tank that is cycled, take one of the rocks that you will be using in the new tank and put it in one of the other tanks for a week or two and then move it into the new tank with a cup of sand.... then wait it will cycle by itself and you won't need the ammonia

I actually have a bunch of rocks and sand in the other tanks that I'll be taking down or changing so was going to use them in the sump. The sand for the fuge will come from the display refugium which I'm turning into a fish qt tank. The rocks in that tank will be divided between sump and the new coral qt tank along with the sand in the 20 gal fish qt that is coming down.

Does it make a difference if the live rocks are in the sump or display? Will the coraline spread from sump to display or do I need a rock or 2 in the display to be benificial. Might look funny to have a few pcs of live rock with a bunch of white dry rock. I planned to use the ammonia to test the system to see if cycle complete. I also seeded some sponges to add to the sump.

As long as water is moving between all the tanks the bacteria will spread. It might take longer if just in the sump.

Will the coraline spread from sump to display or do I need a rock or 2 in the display to be benificial.

The algae will spread on its own. For faster results place a rock or 2 or some scrapings in the DT
