I was wondering, I hear a lot of people talk about dosing ammonia in your tank to cycle. How much would you dose to cycle a 40B w/20L sump?

I used a shrimp, that is almost all gone now. I didn't know I should have raised my temp up. DANG!! But I didn't get a huge ammonia spike like everyone else is talking about. Just checked my params today and 0 ammonia, 10ppm nitrates and 0 nitrites. No algae(not running my lights so that may be the reason for that). No diatoms! Just crystal clear water. I guess I shouldn't complain. I just don't know where to go from here. I don't want to kill anything by adding prematurely. I also want to take the next step.I wouldn't do it, I used a big hunk of tilapia (before I cooked some for myself!) tied it up in panty hose crank the Temp to about 87° and had plenty of ammonia in 3 days. I pulled out the fish dosed with instant ocean bio-spira (sp?) And it cycled in less than two Weeks, it's only been running about 3 months total now and I've kept lps sps and a couple soft corals right after the first 2 Weeks I haven't lost anything! knock on wood!! Idk if I would recommend it though it wasn't as easy as it sounds, I tested the water several times a day, totally obsessed over it!
