I have two buckets with Reef Saver rock one of the book it is 4.0 PPM ammonia and the other one is at 8.0 is there anything I could do to lower it down?

Heavy aeration will take up the pH - some of the ammonia ions will turn to gas (how much depending of pH) and leave the water. The process is continuous and after a while there will be few ammonia ions left. The aeration will also favour the nitrification process so after a couple of weeks - the ammonia ions that not have been transferred to ammonia gas (and left the water for the air) will be converted to nitrate.

Sincerely Lasse
