Amo pads?

Ok tested Sunday with an amo of .2 , 180 TG setup,tank looks crystal, I'm sure it's from the un eaten mussel pieces I feed my puffer, an way. I have had these amo pads around for awhile, so I added them. But there is no detail about how big of a piece to cut, so I added the whole pad. Amo today is at .1, definitely not .2 or 0, My questions are how much to add if I use these and should I just leave them in the tank or remove them once an if the amo hits 0 ? It clearly is reducing the amo that's a +, I will test again on thrusday. This is a "this is a amo pad thread" not a "how to reduce amo" thread.

Leave it in till ammonia hits 0. You can use seachem prime to make the ammonia safe for 48 hours at a time if you'd like. I like to think of these products as emergency tools rather than long term tools since ammonia is most sustainably handled by bacteria.

There no problem in the tank an I agree with u about emergency status, my tamk.is large enough to handle a. 2 reading. I use it (.2) as a wc indicater,an thats my plan, see if it hits 0, ill know by Friday, if I will need to fire up the wc system. someone told in another group that these are for fresh water only. I've never heard there being a difference in fresh water amo and saltwater amo.
