so I know that before adding bacteria in a bottle to your tank you need to give them a food source so in my case I placed a raw shrimp in their to release ammonia the question is what should be the ammonia reading in my tank that is sufficient fo the bacteria

the brand am using is ATM colony

The “norm” is dosing ammonia to 2ppm. You can add the bacteria when you dose the ammonia.

Then when ammonia reaches 0, dose to 2 ppm again.

When ammonia reduces from 2 to 0 in 24 hours or less, the cycle is complete.

I would also like to verify nitrate is being made
