some follow ups I await nervously there are pristine sps corals in here and no room to play. Either the algae won and the corals didnt or....

Sorry Brandon, Peroxide won, Algae is gone everywhere except one of the two overflows in the back. I've been in the hospital/sick and haven't had time to get much done on the update front. I'll see if I can't get some pictures this weekend. Had some chemistry balance issues while I was sick/away from the tank, which have caused some corals to suffer, but nothing related to the peroxide.
Also "fun" side fact here. I've grown more algae on the outside along the edges of the algae scrubber then I have inside the algae scrubber itself....it's kind of sad to be honest.

its no prob if a string of out of park home runs is challenged by a foul lol
it sounds like the repetitions needed to reverse eutrophication are not available currently, it was work intensive to get the fewer retreats option hope things are going ok medically that's a big deal for sure. tank can wait and can still be adjusted later along with other dual attack options.
check out Buggers frustration similar to yours and his treatment mode, through the water, this at least gives perspective on the differences between direct or indirect access to the target

substrate access due to sheer size and scope of the effort varies greatly between large and small tanks, maybe when time allows or at least for partial sections the external options can be considered at a timing where personal circumstances allow for hours of work~

So that happened
5 day power outage = Mostly complete Sump Die Off = Massive uncontrollable Algae outbreak that literally strangled my tank to death over the coarse of the next 2 week. I even lost 2 of my 3 prized H. Mags with one still in the "probably not going to make it but not done trying phase". Thankfully my clowns survived or I'm not sure I would have had the heart to continue. I did lose my powder blue though
. Such is life in reefing.So time for a reboot I guess:

I checked in on your tank thread as I see you've upgraded from your old 30. Am I missing something or do you not have anything up yet for the 45?
Thanks for taking a look. The 45 is a sps work in progress, I will update that thread and I started a 28 gallon JBJ for breeding of Lighting Maroon Clowns about a month ago, and I need to create a thread for that. All and all things are going well, not perfect.

Ups and downs ups and downs. So of coarse I got some Chaeto from a local reefer friend after the fuge crash to get things back going again AND of coarse there had to have been Apstasia on it because I have about 4 million little baby nems sprouting up all throughout my fuge...Insert my new friends 10 Bergy Nudies and 2 Peppy Shrimp. The nudies got here today (not pictured) the shirmp will be here tomorrow.
I did get a few more interesting new friends in today. First on the docket to replace once I was sure the system was stable was my powder blue. He's going to have to live by himself for a little bit, but the last one I got started out about this size and it's funny when I put him up to my mature Foxface to see the difference.

Then we have this guy. He'll be taking up residence in the new tank once he gets out of isolation.
Lastly I thought these looked fun. Needed a little something to get the color going again. Adding the name because I'm likely to forget it if it's not in this thread Blue Sympodium Polyp
I also added a new Duncan as they are one of my favorite softies, but he was still hiding after his bug bath and wasn't ready to come out and say hello yet when I was taking pictures earlier.
