Can I move the fish to a different tank at about 70 or 71 hours or so instead of the typical 72 so that way I don’t accidentally go over the 72 hour mark?

Roughly 72 hours later transfer the fish to new tank.... Keyword "Roughly" per @Humblefish. So, I would think you are "ok".

If you can wait longer I would. There was another threat posted not long again, I mentioned that one of my friends rushed and lost quit a bit of livestock’s. While I took my time and 99% survived.

It’s not that I’m rushing. I just don’t want to accidently go over the 72 hour mark

You can always transfer sooner, but not longer. You are not really talking about different times at a couple of hours. I would do the transfer as you want to and just keep the transfers the same going forward.
