So I noticed an acro not doing so well earlier today. Being the reef nerd I am I decided to check on it tonight to see if a crab or other pest might be bothering it. The only thing I saw on it was an amphipod and it sure looked like it was munching away. Am I being paranoid? Or has anyone else seen something like this?

I don't think they eat coral. I could be wrong. I have had a problem with them irritating some corals crawling around on them causing the polyps to close or not extend well.

The Amphipod was probably eating dead or decaying tissue. Did you check water chemistry?

I just noticed that on my tort last night actually, it isn't doing so well and I was inspecting for bugs and guess what... amphipod crawling around on it. I also noticed one or two on my green tip dragon, will monitor it and see if the health of this frag is affected in any way.

Yeah that works, just an Amphipod eating decay, not unusual.

that is exactly what I saw on mine. good vid :)
does that then mean that my green tip dragon is having issues as well?.... aww man....
