Here's why I use Micron filter socks and always turn them inside out and shake them over a bowl for a minute or so. I throw these tasty treats back into the display tank and my fish, especially my wrasses, go crazy chasing them all around. Everytime I change my sock, about every few days I've always got several dozen good size amphipods and tons of Copepods, which of course are harder to see. I don't even have a refugium with Macroalgae, just a bunch of Marine
pure.

Ive never seen any pods that big in my tank...is there a particular way to get some of them to get them going?

I bought them from Aquarium Depot.com and seeded my tank with them, only bought 250 about 4 months ago, they breed and continue to feed the tank.

I had some of the big amphipods come in on something, LR or LS probably. They are everywhere in my sump. Actually they are one of the reasons I don't use filter socks now. So they don't get trapped.
