Amphipods

I have a biota Mandarin eating everything I I put in my tank. I just want to add pods for extra food
If you can see pods on your rocks, glass and sand, then you probably don't need to add any. Also, what are you feeding your mandarin? mine's captive bred and only eats pods.

Amthipods you shouldn't have to replenish ever . I culture both Copepods and Amthipods. My tank has 2 mandarins and 1 six line . Amthipods breed like roaches and they grow to fast in size for the mandarins to really consume . You need to watch your amthipod population as well as they can over take and consume copepods when food sources run low

I read that amphipods eat copepods as you said. It’s been 2 weeks since I added 1200 amphipods. I already had tons of copepods. I see my fish and shrimp hunting thrn both all day especially my wrasse.

Just keep an eye on both . Normally the amthipods will self regulate once they get used to the amount of food available. If you're dosing Phytoplankton then you shouldn't have a issue either way . Copepods will eat the free floating algea Amthipods will eat the detritus and larger algae so everyone can coexist peacefully

Yeah I am adding reef roids and I ordered some phytoplankton from algae barn.
Perfect combo ! If your interested next time you need Phyto shoot me a message I've gotten pretty good reviews on mine . Or just look it up on Ebay jaysreefbugs. You have the right idea I don't think you will have any issues at all
