I am neck deep in FFM preparations right now and trying to set-up the finest FFM you all have ever seen. It is time for me to call for a HUGE favor from all of my local reefing brothers and sisters. I need you all to help me spread the word! I don't really advertise for the FFM, I let word of mouth and the various boards bring in the crowds. Last year I saw over 800 people and I am shooting to break 1000 this year, but I need your help.
1. I have threads up in most of the forums around. Do me a favor and put in a good word in those threads. Talk it up and tell people that it is worth coming out to for the day. Tons of people know about it, but hesitate to come out for the day. Me telling them is good, but you telling them is better!
2. If you frequent a forum and don't see a thread, let me know and I'll get one up. There are so many forums around and I really hang out here and a few other local ones, so I am sure I missed some.
3. Put the info on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Trivia Crack (okay maybe not that one), etc... Surprisingly, as a teacher I don't really do the social media thing so I need you guys to put it to work for the FFM. The image that I have been putting up for the event, is at the bottom. Feel free to put it up, wherever you think it would help. If you need a link, let me know and I will send it to you.
4. Chat it up at your local fish stores. There are a TON of people out there who don't know anything about the HUGE reefing community here or any of the reef societies in the area. I am always amazed at the number of people who could really benefit from the reef groups we take for granted but have never heard of them. Let the guy/girl next to you at the LFS know about the FFM.
5. If you can think of anything else that I could/should be doing to make this happen, let me know!
Thanks in advance for all of your help every year with this. Without all of your help, and you coming out, the FFM would not be the biggest coral swap in the Northeast.
