An Idea I got While Watching Reef Therapy

In episode 6 of Reef Therapy, Jake Adams said something along the lines of "if you keep parameters too stable, then your corals will get more sensitive." So maybe to make some beginner friendly corals, one could set up a frag system that would have small fluctuations in parameters to keep corals less sensitive. What are your thoughts on this?
 
I don't think there's such a thing as "too stable" in this hobby

Eh... With fish, the measure of health and happiness is usually whether or not they are laying eggs.

Corals could do that, but often don't because they don't get the swings they are expecting.

True but corals spawning is often due to stress (and the evolutionary tactic to reproduce if death is imminent). Spawning in itself is not necessarily a sign of good conditions.

What caused the reef bleaching was said to be global warming . I've not heard read or seen anything about nitrates or any other levels being to blame.
