Well I had originally started my tank in the hopes of having a nice clean NPS reef... that has somehow transformed in to a reef for odd crabs and fish market clams!

A pitho crab an emerald crab a blue leg crab and a new decorator crab!

The Blue Leg is standing on one of the fish market clams. The rest are mostly buried. It's funny. I never thought those clams would last this long. I bought them off of a display rack of ice months ago from Publix they handle salinity swings better than the zoas do.

My reef has become a circus... and I love it

I have an attraction to weird animals. I have a large freshwater tank filled with bluegills and a smaller specimen tank with wildlife samples I (legally) take from local lakes including juvenile invasive mayan Cichlids, juvenile swamp darter, 2 mosquito fish and a juvenile bluegill (unknown species). Sitting next to the specimen tank is a metallic blue pink toe tarantula. And of course watching over all of them are 2 goofball kitties.

Added a Coral banded shrimp to my collection of weirdos. Seems pleasant. I used to have a blue devil damsel but he mysteriously disappeared a few months ago. I checked the carpet and the back of the tank for a corpse or bones but I found nothing so I got a cloudy damsel to replace it. The cbs snips at it when he gets in its face but other than that both seem friendly. There was an outbreak of cyano slime on a coral skeleton and the pitho crab ate most of it and stuck the rest on his head.... as a disguise.. what a goof.

Inverts are neat. I will have to get an anemone and an anemone crab at some point. I'm hoping the decorator crab takes some zoas for his camouflage soon. Then he'd be a walking neon green goliath.
