I have never used ozone before, have been tempted for awhile to try it. Before all the currents economic situation occurred pulled the plug.

I am only running 1 hour a day and my skimmer has a port for ozone. And only adding a small amount even during this hour. To control the ozone i am using my controller(profilux) power bar in case there is a giant variation in orp.

Already run a carbon reactor for my gorgs. I use rox .8.

Using an air dryer for ozone intake.
Not the least expensive thing ive ever purchased lol.

Day 1 observations

Skimmer efficiency is noticeably greater, I am still collecting the same amount of water. But vastly more organics.

Day 3 observation greater water clarity. Noticeable more pop to the “crispness of the water”

Use of ozone goes way back in reefing history. It's benefits are well known as you have already seen!
I think I overthought the health concerns and technical difficulty involved. While not inexpensive, not as finicky as a biopellet reactor, or as trial and error as vodka dosing. (Not the same exact use but i had realistic goals) I am using at 1/8 of what the unit can make.

my only negative experience with ozone was keeping the drying media changed out.

Pulling air from somewhere already dry helps significantly, but in the end one rainy day and it seemed an entire load would get used up. I used a 10" water filter canister and would change it out and recharge in the oven.
