in a low nutrient system, well skimmed, very few water changes, kh mag ca the usual, sp gr 1.026, nitrate 0, phosphate trace, sps doing well....PLEASE let me know if a significantly sulphery smelling AREA is a beneficial thing in any way, UNDISTURBED of course. I know what happens when inadvertently stirred up- bad news!!

The question would be how do you know there is a sulphuric smell unless you smell it or disturbed it. Can't see why it would be beneficial. But I think more information would help

"area" meaning bottom of a fuge, or sand bed, or miracle mud in a fuge, assuming it's there, may or may not be now, not going hunting for it, you said "can see why it would be beneficial" you meant can't??

Yes - I meant 'can't'. I edited my post - sorry - done on the phone. But - again the question is - unless you can 'smell it' how do you know its 'there'. And if you do smell it, IMHO, it's bad. So - it kind of depends on the reason for your question.
