Okay, I got my copper in my QT at 1.99 (using Hanna reader). I am good with the 1.99. My question is - if I never do a water change (just go with me on this), I will not have to add anymore copper to the QT, correct? It will maintain the 1.99 forever if nothing is added to the tank. Am I right?

**I do understand that if I add water I need to bring water to the 1.99 before adding.

I would continue periodic testing to make sure something isn't absorbing any copper.
If you add RODI/whatever TOP OFF water you do not add copper. Just maintain the water level with a mark of some sort on the tank. I use the plastic rim.
Water change water is the only water you add copper to.

If you add it to the top off water it will keep increasing the copper level as the water (and only water) evaporates.

THANK YOU! I was ready to add it to my top off water. Thanks again for the reply!!

It's SOO much to think about. Everyone here helped me out. Happy to help. I printed out four different threads and highlighted all the applicable bits. My first copper treatment was a complete failure in every way. After some much needed studying I just successfully treated my eight remaining fish.

I have read, and read, and read. I printed, and printed, and printed. Thankfully all of my fish are doing well. I raised the level very, very slowly. Fingers crossed!
