and the tank is cracked

I just picked this setup up last weekend, did a freshwater run and all was good.

Moved it to the other side of the room and must have hit one of the pipes for the bean animal as I came home today to find water on the ground and a hairline crack under the pipe.

Needless to say I'm a little upset but I did find a 120 4x2x2 for sale on my local reefer site and he is selling it dirt cheap as he is moving in a few weeks

That's my favorite size tank and I have a skimmer that will be plenty big enough for it.

Now the ultimate question is I have a 20 gallon sump, will that work for a tank of this size?

I would do a bigger sump. You CAN do a 20 gallon, but you’d be much better off with the biggest tank you can fit. That’s extra room for equipment, refugium, and just additional water volume in general.

Also, run a piece of flexible pvc or vinyl tubing out of bulkhead, at least a little before transition to rigid pvc, to alow some give so that won’t happen again

Well I guess just be thankful it wasn't bigger. Bummer about the water leakage though.

20g its ok for a sump. Usually you can place the equipment and still have room below the tank for ATO reservoir and dosing containers.

Thats why Im hoping to use the sump I have as it fits the skimmer that's rated for a 120 gallon tank actually up to 200 gallons. I can fit a 10 gallon tank in there for ato water and have room for a reactor and also all the power supplies

I used a 30 on my 75. Good water volume and plenty of room when return shuts off plenty of equip space. No flooding!

To me, that's the question, will the 20 hold enough water to prevent flooding in a power outage. If it will, and your equipment fits, I'd go with it so you can have the 10 gallon ATO and other euipment in there too. Nice and neat!

Sump space is like a gun safe, man cave, garage size... no matter how big it is, eventually , you'll want it bigger.

I'd try real hard to come up with a 40 breeder or something along those lines.

Oh, and think this one through... if you'd have had a bigger (thicker) tank to start with, you probably wouldn't have cracked the tank in the first place

Those little tanks are so easy to crack, especially around a bulkhead.

I have a 30g sump on a 75g and wouldnt want it any smaller but I run a refugium. 40g would be much more reasonable and you should be able to find them dirt cheap (especially if you can hit one of the dollar/gallon sales at Petco).

Howdy neighbor, not sure what side of town your on but go see greg at Stingray bay, he has great prices on Triggers and Bashsea sumps if you want to go that route.
