Hey Guys!!! So this isn't a from scratch build thread.. I actually started with a Red Sea Reefer 250 and decided that I was not happy with my aquascape. I also felt that it wasn't quite big enough for me. So I decided to breakdown the 250 and move everything over to the new tank...

For equipment I have
2 Maxspect Gyre 230s (running @pelphrey 's Awesome program listed on his site)
Kessil AP700
Kessil H80 for Refugium
Neptune Apex 2016
COR15
2 DOS with DDR (I am running Triton "Other Methods"
AFS
@Vivid Creative Aquatics Random Flow Kit
Nyos Quantum 120 Skimmer

For Livestock I have
2 Black Ocellaris Clownfish
Sixline Wrasse
Flame Hawk
Midas Blenny
Watchman Goby & Pistol Shrimp Pair
Royal Gramma
Baby Longnose Black Tang
Gem Tang
Emerald Crab
Peppermint Shrimp
Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
Fire Shrimp
Sand Sifting Starfish
Red Starfish

I will post pictures of my teardown and rebuild later....

GREAT transition. Do you plan on adding more rock work? those AP700s do great work. Looking forward to seeing the growth in the new home :)

I don't think I am going to add more. I want more open space for my Tangs to swim in...

Beautiful pictures and system Andre and thanks for sharing it with us

Very nice

Hey! I'm setting up a 350 V3 for the first time. Your setup looks great!

A few questions:
When you mount the DOS to the sidewall, can you use the provided screws or is it ? Would a sticky command strip thing work better? Red Sea calls it a HPL coated MDF Marine Spec cabinets. Can I sink a screw into that?

Did you add a backboard to the electronic side to mount equipment on the rear of the tank? If so, what did you use? Just plywood or something a bit sturdier?

What type of lighting do you have in the cabinet? Simple LED rope lighting up top? It lights it up well!

Thanks!

Hey @NotSoCivil_Engineer !!! Thanks for the love!!

To answer your question. You are able to screw into the stand. I have a reefer 250 as well that I have mounted items. I usually use wood screws. I did not want to screw holes in my new stand. So what I did was go to Home Depot and pick up a few 11.8" X 23.8" shelves made by rubbermaid. The are just regular particle board. I used extra strength velcro to mount the board to the inside of the stand. I mounted my equipment to the board. The EB82 is mounted on a board that is just sitting behind the tank. I just have it leaning against the wall.

For the lights... I don't remember the brand, but it is just a 6ft cabinet led strip light. It comes with double sided tape attached to it and easily bends.

I tried to get them to host..... They don't want anything to do with the anemone... Lol

I'm waiting for my anemon, the clown fish is already in the tank. Is there something special that i have to do to get them to host when I get the anemon home?

I tried floating them in the basket for 2 days.... It did not work for me... I felt bad so I gave up and put them in the tank.... At my LFS, they do it with designer Clowns and it seems to work for them.... I am stopping by there later... I'll upload a pic so you can see what I'm talking about.

@peppe_67 The guy at the store said that it can take up to 2 weeks for them to host the anemone..... I definitely don't have to space to do it for that long.....

Ok, then I just put the anemon into the tank and let what ever happens happen. I want the anemone anyway and if the clowns don't take to it, it's their loss.

Hello Andre. I like your setup. I just ordered Reefer 350 Deluxe V3. After being out of the hobby for 15 years my goal is to automate and simplify. I have also ordered the Apex controller and Core 20 pump. I still have to decide on skimmer and wav pumps. As my first priority is to get the sump area organized do you find the ATO adequate to top off for 7 days? Have you considered a manifold? I would love to more pics of your sump area.

@Maxrotor I had a manifold on the reefer 250, but I don't have anything that I need to run off of it.... I run carbon in a bag that's placed in one of my filter cups... The refugium has actually kept my phosphate pretty low... My Nyos Skimmer has been great!! It also doesn't take up much space.
