I purchased this little guy yesterday from a LFS. They had it labeled as (Purple Long Tenaltacle Anenome). I had posted a diffrent question yesterday and someone suggested it was a condy. I began looking into it and can't really tell with my limited background in nems. LFS can be hit or miss so I was curious what this actually was?

Thank you in advance!

Easiest way to differentiate is that LTAs will have visible verrucae while Condies do not. Hope they didn't charge you an LTA price.

Ah, thank you. Yeah they sure did charge me for an LTA. That's crappy. I should have done more research. That's what I get for trusting that LFS.

Take it back !

Take it back !

I called, he said he's been in business 30 years. It's a Macrodactyla Doreensis. He can show me the differences between the condys and the LTAs, if I wanted to come in. He did have a condy in the next tank and they did look diffrent, but I am novice. I have no idea. Another thing he stated was that a clown wouldn't make a home in a condy. I took a picture while I was there with a clown hanging in the one I bought. So I have no idea. I just worry if I ever introduce another one in there and they don't get along.

Condies aren't a natural host for clowns but neither are LPS, softies, magnets... You'll find plenty of examples of clowns in Condies in threads here.

It looks to me like a LTA, look at the underside of the anemone for dots on the underside of the oral disk and column to accurately verify (you can kind of make out the spots in the first pic). LTA's like to be in the sand btw, while condylactis attach to rocks

The spots in the first pic are the fosse which both nems have.

Possibly but I disagree, I think the nem is curled up in such a way can just barely see them, no doubt in my mind its an LTA, ok some doubt but just a little.

Well, it didn't like the rock. It jumped off onto the sand. It was laying sideways. I moved it and made a burrow so hopefully it can reach the glass? Depending on what type it is I suppose haha. Here are some underneath pictures.

I'd have to say it's an LTA then! It seems to be doing ok. It jumped off the rock yesterday. I made a crater in the sand for it to reach the glass. It was boring itself last night. This morning I noticed it came unburied. Now it seems to be trying to move again. Completely unburied and laying sideways. Not sure if I should interfere or not.

What feature are yall seeing that says LTA and not Condy?

Can you take few more pics with its column and mouth? If it does not root for a day, I would check on it
