My green LTA has balled up as of today I fed last night. I've had it for 1 month and never seen it retreat. I directly feed it once a week. My measurements are below, as of yesterday which was before it balled up.
I've heard they ball up for 2-3 days sometimes but never seen it myself and I just added a huge mushroom and wrasse so I wasn't sure if anything could throw it off.
Salinity is fine. It could be the lighting. When they ball up, I call it pouting because they don't like it that something has been changed. It'll eventually open back up again. Be patient.
