So I have two anemones that went into the tank at the same time and I placed them both exactly midway in the tank on a shelf.

the big guy hid under the shelf for a solid two weeks and the lil guy stayed happily where I placed him.

So I thought my lights were too bright and dimmed them to 50%

now the big guy is at the topmost point of the tank - with some tentacles I’m sure above water and the lil guy is down the bottom third .
Daylight pic was this afternoon , the dark pic is now .

I'd say raise your lights back.

Let them find places in the tank with the lights how you will run them normally.

If you want to you can do an acclimation period but nems usually dont need one as they will move to where they want to go for light.

thanks . I have a Chinese black box that’s rated for 300 w and I have no idea what the par is on it but I was so worried that the anemone was physically hiding in the darkest spot for so long .

this is my first saltwater tank and first time with anemones

Ya it's going to the top of the tank for a reason.

I would adjust lights back to your original setting and see what they do.

I'm guessing it will move down and find a place.

It looks healthy so dont worry.

How old is your tank?

What light schedule and intensity do you use?

Tank is about 5 months old .

My lights are on for about 8hrs at 50% blue and 50% white and 2 hrs 50% blue only

Originally had it 70% and 70%

I have fed both the anemones thawed shrimp once a week (two feedings total)

I say put your blues back to 70% and see where he goes....he looks good so I think he is trying to find a spot. Mine moves constantly at night when the lights go out....recently got into a power head even with a guard on it!

Ya keep thos on them!!

I had nylon socks over mine and the darn anenome got into the only hole that was directly on the front middle of the powerhead. They are persistent to say the least!!

Keep us posted and I'm sure he will end up happy!!
