What does this mean when my anemone is like this?

Nems can act strange from time to time. If it doesn't look better within a few days, then I would get concerned. How long has it been like that?

Also post your parameters, lighting, and tank size
All my parameters are good, i have the fluval 13.5, stock light going to be upgrading that soon. Also it seems the anemone seems to be getting back to its original position, maybe bc the lights were off? I had them off while i was at work, i plan on getting on of those light controllers so i can get it on a day n night cycle.

That may be it! My BTA's like to close up when the lights are on, one fully closes and the other keeps a couple tentacles poking out

I’m assuming since the morning looked fine before i left to work and when i came back right now and turned on the lights it was like that, i’m assuming bc of the lights but so far everything looks good! First timer with anemones so all the feedback from everyone is great!

My guess is the lighting. Most things get angry when the lights are off. As long as it gets back to it's original position, I wouldn't worry.

Before mine introduced himself to the wave maker he did this randomly off and on. He did it to guard himself. With me touching him, water flow touching him against a rock he’s not used to, hermit touching his foot you name it. Normal behavior for mine.

As for feeding would it be better to spot feed the frozen mysis shrimping use for my fish or to give them cut up pieces of shrimp fresh from the grocery store?

Oh man, just wait until you catch it totally deflated and pooping! I freaked out the first time I saw that

You're going to get differing opinions on feeding them. Some people swear by feeding their nems multiple times a week, others have never directly fed their anemones. And both mindsets have produced happy healthy anemones. I like to stick somewhere in the middle, I feed mine little pieces of raw shrimp once or twice a month, they catch food when you're feeding your tank too.

Awesome, thank you!
