Anemone Closing up during Day

I got him a couple days ago but he seems to close up a lot during the day. I was curious if my lights were too bright for him or possibly another reason. He seems to open up a quite a bit more during sunrise/sunset/moonlight lighting levels. Wasn't sure if this was it or something else.

Would you leave the lights on full or cut back the daylight a bit for a few days?

My nem is weird. He was even weirder when I first got him. He would close, open, close mouth, gape mouth, and move all over. I think he was just trying to push out all the crap from the different tanks he was in before he got to me. I did run my lights in acclimation mode when I got him.

Now he only really closes up about a day after I feed him table shrimp, so I think he's expelling waste. Luckily he's out of the, "I'm going on an adventure." phase where he'd blow up and let the pumps suck him into the nem guards. Always stressful.
