Anemone coming out if live rock?

my new jbj 45 gallon aquarium it's been running for 2 weeks now and 2 days ago I added live rock and yesterday I noticed a anemone looking organism I believe it came from the live rock and today I looked at it and it has grown quite abit

It Is an aiptasia. Very much of a pest and will sting anything it comes in contact with. It multiplies like CRAZY!!!

Aiptasia X works great! Be very careful because if it gets spooked it will release tiny spores(babies) into your water.

I've heard tons of ideas with mixed results, but peppermint shrimp do the job. You just have to be careful with them if you have lps, as they will dig the food right out of their mouth. I haven't heard of any other problems with them.

Clownfish get my vote! I also like fire fish, but they are jumpers. If you decide to go with them, you will need a cover. What type of fish were you thinking of for your tank?

What fish have you picked out already? I would start with the least aggressive and work up to the most aggressive.

I picked out a green mandarin goby I saw it and it eats pellets and myosin shrimp I just needed to have it and it's very peaceful doesn't bother anything. It is my first fish in my tank and I added 2 pepper mint shrimp too

It is unfortunate that local stores even sell mandarins. It will not survive in your tank, period. Expect it to live maybe 1-2 months as it slowly dies of starvation. These are not beginner fish and they are NOT fish for a new tank.

I agree with what your saying. I forgot to mention that I spent around 70 bucks on copepods a week ago I added 500 to refugium and 500 to the main tank

They go rogue and eat your LPS… I have seen it with ever peppermint shrimp I have ever owned. They will take care of the aiptasia if you get them while they are small, and don't over feed your tank. However they will slowly pick at your LPS when the lights are out and in most cases can cause lots of damage to corals before you figure out the cause.

I highly suggest (if you have corals LPS) the Berghia Nudibranch. They are expensive but they get the job done and then they die off.

You'll go broke doing that. A healthy Mandarin eats hundreds of pods per day. They are continuous feeders throughout daylight. If you want to go that route you should start culturing pods and regularly replenish your DT until their population is established which could take several months if many of them are being eaten. It is questionable whether a 45g tank is large enough to support a pod population that will feed a Mandarin.
