Hi all, im new here and im seeking help, i have had my tank for 2-1/2 years and added an anemone 3 weeks ago. It was doing fine but my perculas didn’t host and it i have never seen it eat anything despite my effort to feed silversides or pieces of shrimp. Either the snails get it before it closes on it or it spits back out... my water parameter are dead on and i run every possible equipment to take care of my water. Despite all this, my anemone now looks like this... is it a goner?

It looks severely bleached. Can you post your parameters and lighting.
Of course, all parameters read zero including phosphate, Alk is 9 and Calcium sits at 520.. lighting is 2-32” led current marine lights...

Welcome to r2r!! Not dead yet but not looking good...
Thanks, i know, i hate loosing animals, aside from the money, i think is unfair to the animal.. i wanted to move it to my Quarantine but dont want to stress it even more, plus my Q is only 10 G... and i currently have an Angel fish recovering from bullying... resulting in Popeye. My Angel was in Q before i got the Anemone

They need a little nitrate and phosphate to thrive.
Ok.. ill turn off my GFO and Carbon and turn off my Auto Water Changer... currently changing 1 G per Day.. I use ApI test kits, maybe i do have some phosphate and Nitrates, because i have to scrape off Algae off my glass like twice a week.. i also have hair algae in my sump where my Chaeto is

2 1/2 years old? that is very clean rock and sand for a 2 1/2 year old tank. Are the current marine lights the pro's or standard versions?
Oh, and welcome to R2R! :)

It was a bare bottom until about 2 months ago, and my rock is usually scrapped of of Any Algae, i have snails, crabs and lawnmower blenny keeping everything in check, my other fish include a foxface, 1 domino clown, percula, sailfin tang, yellow tang, blue hippo.. my angel currently in Q. And one pulsing coral added at the same time as anemone, currently thriving, it actually split into two about 4 days ago.. my equip, UV light, GFO R, Carbon R, Theiling Roller Mat, Skimz PSkimmer, 2 Gyres.. lights are the standard version i believe, bought them used $40 bucks each.

Your lights are simply not sufficient for a nem. You're about the 100th person with these same lights and a problem thread on this forum.
Bummer, i will have to upgrade my lighting. So is it safe to say my Anemone will slowly dye in the next couple hrs.. days..? Ive read they can wreck a system once dead...

It looks pretty bad, I wouldnt wait long. And yes when a nem dies it releases toxins that can completely nuke a tank

Pretty much sums it up.

You have a lot of really nice equipment on your tank, sadly lighting is like the absolute last place you really want to cheap out of if you're going to try to keep corals and nems.

You could always try to return it where you got it, even if you don't get your money back.

Thanks Amoo, same reason why my tank was only a FOWLR up until recently, lighting was placed at the bottom if my list.. but it is next... too bad i had to pay the price to realize im late with the upgrade.

I don't know. Mine looked like that a week ago. All started when I went from T5's to LED's (AI Hydra 52hd). When he finally lost his footing and fell onto the sand I euthanized him. Get him out now!!
