Anemone Emergency

Long story short, they gave me the wrong anemone. I think this is a Ritteri anemone. I asked for a bubble tip. I think it’s a massive Ritteri anemone but if I’m wrong let me know. It was only 40 bucks and I don’t know what to do.

Take it back. If it is a Ritteri, it will eat your fish.

Make an isolation box or go to petsmart or petco and pick up an in tank breeding box and you can hold it in there until then

if you do this make sure to cover the box, in case of wandering.

I made a floating isolation box. Hopefully it will remain alive.

I have almost no corals in my 88 gallon. Will it really eat all my fish if I just put it in. It’s amazing../

Nems can sting and will eat things, including fish. They have stinging tentacles that are sticky. Some such as carpets are ultra sticky and if a fish does swim into it, it might not be able to escape. Rock and bubbles are the safest in my opinion.

It's not a H. magnifica (aka ritteri). The spots on the underside look like a carpet anemone. Maybe a Merten's carpet. Try and save it if you're not going to put it in your tank. Big anemones like that are awesome IMO and deserve a chance to live.
