Anemone experts, is this the start of a split?

Sorry its the best picture I can get but theres like a three inch part in the anemone. Is it splitting? Sorry for the clown lol.

I can't really see what you are talking about unless it is the indention on the side. When they split it starts at the mouth. The mouth will open and it will keep stretching itself until it has ripped itself in two. Each half takes half of the mouth with it.

Thats true connie ur right . And if u want to split it ur self u can just cut in the same way they split themselves right down the middle half and half I I seen people cut them in fours and they still grow back!

Hard to tell.Mine will split, with out warning. It just starts to stretch it's foot on the rocks like it's about to relocate. within 2 days I have two some times three new ones. Even little snot like transparent pieces will grow into anemone's if they don't get filtered out.

What kind is that purple nem?

Its a Rose Bubble Tip Anemone. It is withdrawn in that picture, so it makes it look darker than it is when fully expanded.
