anemone feeding

Don't feed it a whole shrimp, I'd feed it a piece the size of a nickel. They consume bigger pieces than you'd think, and about over feeding it just wouldn't accept the food if it didn't want/need it.

I have not feed my anemones directly in years. They grow an multiply like crazy. I currently have over 36 and have sold 2 dozen this year. Mine range in size from 3-14”. I don’t think feeding has any thing to do with bubbles. Some of mine will have bubbles while the one right next to it does not. When I did feed them they did not have bubbles. My nitrates are consistently 20-25 which BTAs love as it is a food source for them.

With nitrates that high all tank members won't be happy. The bubbles inflating is a topic that is constantly debated. That's why I said from what I found.

Feed it regularly and see if it does. That's what I've found with mine. Everyone will debate this topic. But this is my tried and true method

wait cardinals can host an anemone

I don't know if it considered hosting. They don't clean it or anything. But they do hang around inside of it or within tentacle reach of it. I have read they use anemones for safety in the wild.

That is easy to prove or disprove. If I feed just one and it bubbles and none of the others do and it bubbles while the others don’t that would be an indication it might be true. If I then feed a different one and it were to bubble up and the other went back that is a better indicator. But it would take multiple people doing the same to rally prove it.if no bubbles form from feeding it pretty much dis proves that theory. I think there are plenty of people that feed there BTAs with out bubbles from what I have seen. I will try feeding one of mine weekly and see if there are any changes.

I fed every other day. But try it and see what happens and get back to us.

What do you feed every day? How much? I will try to duplicate. It could be a specific food that causes bubbles as well.

Only krill, depending on the size of your nem 1/2-1 full krill. Every 2 days
