Hi -
I’m not sure what to make of this but my anemone is folded - and has been this was for a few days now .

Is it ok ? I’ve tried to feed it but it seems uninterested.

Other anemone in tank seems happy (bubbles are inflated and perky )

I can't say for sure what's going on with your anemone. But anemones in general do some odd behaviors and can do them for hours and even days. I wouldn't worry about it yet. Besides, what could you do for it?

IMHO, just keep an eye on it and please keep us updated either way.

Following.

BTW, just so you know, I have over 50 Rock Flower Anemones, a RBTA and a curly-Q anemone in my 90g tank. So I do have some experience. ;)

Really hard to see exactly what's going on, but the nem looks happy so I'd leave it be for now. If it continues to twist, I would perhaps intervene. It could be splitting.

I would leave it alone. BTAs can easily move on their own, especially when they're not happy with their location. Just be careful that your BTA doesn't inflate like a balloon, float around the tank, and eventually get caught in a powerhead.

Hi everyone - thanks for responding .

I was worried because half the tentacles on the underside seemed deflated . And was worried that the clowns may have hurt it .

It’s been on that rock for the past few months but it refuses to plump up and have the “bubble tips” like the other anemone in the tank .

Oh well . I’ve increased the photo period and will see if that helps

You could turn over the rock, if possible. The nem would likely readjust.

Leave it alone and wait.

I wouldnt change anything. If you increased your photo period, I would go back to what it was.

You dont know what the anemone is doing, and all of your other anemones are fine.
Changing the photo period could very well trigger issues with the other anemones and still not do anything to "fix" the issue with the first anemone.

I know it's hard, but sit and wait. If your other anemones of the same type are fine, it's not a water quality issue or an environmental issue.

Thanks . I have a Chinese black box that I had on for about 12hours day however I had some green hair algae that started to grow - so I cut it back to 8hours with lights on ..

But you are correct I should wait it out as I could be making more problems .

It is almost 6” in diameter , maybe it is splitting ?

I’ll check on it when I get home and post an update
