Anemone foot won't attach 2 months

Got this from the LFS. Foot wasn't sticky when I bought it and still isn't sticky now. Impossible to attach to anything. I try to feed it but it won't eat. Opens its mouth but won't close on any foot nor are the tentacles sticky. I have two other anemones who are very healthy.

That nem looks unhappy! Can you give us some more info on your setup? Lighting? Tank age? What kind of nem is it? Can you take a pic with white lights on? How long have you had your other nems? Pics of them? Parameters?

For now I would put it in a small container of some sort with some shells or live rock rubble so it can settle/attach.

That looks exactly like one of mine. I’m having the same problem.

I moved it into a 13g by itself to see if I could get it happy.

what was it sold to you as? I was told an lta but I’m thinking it looks more like a malu.

I had it in a small container for two days with live rock and wouldnt attach. Will try again. 250g Tank, 2 years old. 3 Radion LED's. Water parameters are all within the BRStv recommendations. Other nems are 6 months old and super happy and growing.

I have exactly the same situation and it looks like the same type of anemone. White tentacles with a thick pink foot? Mine won't attach and its mouth is staying open. I'm wondering if yours ended up surviving. This is the first anemone that I've got my clowns to host so I really hope it survives.

Have you tried shutting off flow and trying to let if do it’s thing?

Have your tried burying the foot in the sand and letting it attach to the bottom the tank then backfilling the with sand? If it’s not interested in anchoring to the rocks down in the sand

It's a long tentacle anemone, Macrodactyla doreensis. Generally providing ideal water conditions is the best you can do. Temp 78-82F, undetectable nitrates, sg 1.026, moderate water flow, reef quality lighting.

Hello, I would turn the flow down and let it take its time to attach properly onto a rock or you could get a nem cup from amazon for $5 and put the nem in it and see if it's attaching.
