That’s a very nice magnifica. Not weird at all. They will regularly ball up like that, usually in the evening. Mine does it all the time. Generally a sign of a happy anemone. My clowns will occasionally swim in and out of my mag’s mouth - clown version of livin’ on the edge I guess.
Probably not. Mine also takes on an hourglass shape occasionally. They’re unpredictable splitters though. I had one that grew absolutely huge - over 24” in diameter when fully expanded - yet it never split. Others split at much smaller sizes. The splitters were also travelers - which is a problem obviously.
Mine only becomes problematic when she's not getting enough light or flow. When for whatever reason that happens, she begins to move around the rock trying to get out. That's the reason I keep it isolated.
I have a wifi webcam pointed at the tank when I'm away.
I have even used it at home during periods when she was not happy, so that I could wake up in the middle of the night and check how she was, without getting out of bed
It's a big animal and if it releases it can wipe out the tank. It's not a small bubbletip. I have had bubbletips meeting a powerhead before and it's no big deal, but this magnifica is a completely different story.
