Anemone Guard - AI Nero 3

Hi All,

First thread on the forum which I have been following for a very long time! Great community and happy to now be part of it and contribute. I have been reading and studying for a year before launching my own Reef tank 3 months ago, a 60L nano.

Anyway, I have a Nero 3 wavemaker, and have purchased an anemone guard as I have a BTA.

Please have a look at the pictures, I am not able to actually fit the nem guard at all on the pump. There are multiple issues with it in my opinion

1) the overall scale is not big enough for sure, I guess this was scaled down from the Nero 5 but slightly too much
2) the separation to allow the cord is I believe located on the wrong end of the side of the guard, see where the cable is on the pump.
3) the inside area, attached by the 4 bits, is definitely way too small to allow the pump to come inside.

Please let me have your view on this? Is it me, or there is really an issue?

I have a 5 . Is the cage on backwards? ( I could be wrong). Just seems like too much cage

Looks like you need to run the cord thru the cage first, then put the nero into the cage wide fron the wide side like an ice-cream cup, until it fits in, then rotate until the cord fit into the notch

Or maybe like this? This is for a nero 5 but looks similar to yours

That would make sense Dkmoo, that is the same nem guard model or very close, but have a look at the last picture. I'd have to try and fit in the wave maker by reversing its position but it's simply too narrow. No chance.

Having now measured.. the entry of the guard is 45mm, whilst the diameter of the Nero 3 is 58mm on the narrower side (direction of the flow) and 60mm in the back.

Definitely something wrong with the scaling.
