Hello, this little guy has not eaten since I bought him 6 weeks ago. He is seriously bleached. He is a green bubble tip, or at least was. I finally got him to eat 3-4 missis shrimp yesterday, and today he has all this extra flesh around his base/body. Any advice?

Never mind, I figured it out. He is dead. Went to feed him some more shrimp and he fell off the rock in a blob. Poor dudes gone

That particular LFS is stopped using about 4 weeks ago because of such poor health in the livestock.

Not sure how big he is but make sure that when you feed you don’t feed anything too big. My rule is about 1/2 the size of the mouth or less for any coral because I’ve witnessed duncan/anemones/blastos/scolys literally choke to death because the pieces of food were too big. Also not sure about how big the stomachs on corals/ nems are so I’d be careful about over feeding. Quick killer, only a couple hours. But I suspect yours was already sick since you mentioned the lfs wasn’t very reputable

Follow up , I will also make a separate post: does the smell ever go away? I literally started the entire tank over in the last 4-5 hours. No matter what I did the tank was literally striped to just glass and plastic filter chanber, 100% new live sand and Water. The live rock smelled horrific , the plastic filter chamber was nauseating... tried everything I could use that was safe... seachem coral dip, hydrogen peroxide , fish tank glass cleaner , near bowling water and aquatic safe soap. Nothing even made a dent! Do I need to have the tank it self replaced? It’s a Fluval evo 13.5, pretty sure they sell the glass only replacement. Maybe it’s a good time to upgrade!

I've honestly never had that problem with an Anemone passing, through they are known to foul the tank if you don't remove them quickly if they pass.
