I have an anemone and a snail... they out died within a week of each other. I have plenty of fish and some hermit crabs. My levels are all good. What is happening

The deaths could very possibly be unrelated. Really need more information: what type of snail and anemone, specific water paramater values including SG, age of tank.....you get the idea.

The she of my tank is approximately four months. The snail was an arrow snail and the anemone was a purple tipped one I can't remember the name. What's SG?. I'm new at this

SG is short for specific gravity. It is a type of measurement of the salt lvl.

Four months is a little young of a tank for an anemone. They do better in more established systems. What kind of lights do you have?

Salinity is right in the middle of the green on my tester... the nitrite and nitrates ammonia and of are all where they are supposed to be. Just the standard lights

Well anemones have very specific light requirements. I would start doing a lot of reading on the requirements of the different animals you have. A good rule is to research before you buy because it will save you a lot of money.

4 months is way to soon for even buying a cody nem .. tank should be up and running with no major swings for 6 to 9 months before you should really look at a nem ..

Yea. When I purchased them I asked if they needed anything specialized

The sales guy said no... frustrating especially for a new starter first salt water tank ever

We have all been there, best to ask people that gain nothing either way if you are really able to keep certain things. Some stores will say anything to make a sale.

yupp all about that sale and getting more is so they can sell sell sell .. cause they know people will come back no matter what they are told ..

"The center of the green" just wont do. Get you a good refractometer so you can accurately measure your salt levels. What test kits are you using for the others?

It has numbers I'm just not home yet.... my other test KiT is an api pro marine/saltwater test kit

I think what grimm is getting at is that hydrometers, which is the thing you are using are not very reliable. They are good for a quick check but you should have a refractometer to get a real accurate read.

Never get the dyed anemones either from what I've been told. Best thing is to research everything before you buy anything, Especially fish! Always handy to cross check what the lfs is telling you with what you read on sites live aquaria. Keep your phone handy when you go if you have a data plan.
