so i am considering making my 30 gallon tank an anemone tank all it has right now is a 1 inch ocellaris clown and a nassarius snail. my question is could i have more than 1 kind of anemone, and more than 1 kind of clown? if i can what kinds of each would you guys (and gals) recommend? thanks in advance!:)

Two clowns are ok. They will fight it out. if you got more than 2 I hear it is a nightmare. Get a clown you like

I don't see a problem with having different types of anemones in the same tank. Once they find a place they like they usually just stay there. - Other people might feel differently about that.

I like RTBA for clowns

so it would be ok to have the ocellaris and add say a percula, but they would have some fights every so often?

You should be able to house 2 types of clowns, just make sure you aren't too packed in there so they have their own space

yes, you can keep two different types of clowns. You can also keep different types of anemones as well - I would suggest staying away from the more aggressive clowns such as clarkiis, maroons, and tomatos in a tank your size - there are some really beautiful designer clowns out there - I love wyoming whites.....

if you go with more than one type of clown or even a pair of the same type, buy them as small juveniles if possible

imo, you take a chance any time you add 2 clowns to a tank. they could get along, or they could fight. i have gone through numerous clowns to get the different pairs that i have now. i would stick with trying a small occelaris or percula.

different types of nems in a 30g??? i would be cautious about trying that one. some nems stay put, and others will move a lot. some will stay put for awhile, and then move one day for no apparent reason. why not have multiple colors of bubble tips? that way you don't have to worry about them fighting, clowns will have a ball, and the color variety looks great, imo.

how long has your tank been established? what kind of skimmer, lights, and sump do you have on it? powerhead?

i don't have a protein skimmer yet but will soon, i currently have florescent bulbs but will upgrade to 3 LED strips soon. for Christmas i will be getting a hob refugium which is about 4.5 gallons. this is not for right now, this is for future reference. the tank was started with live rock, live sand, and live water, it is about 1.5 weeks old.
