Hey guys I bought a RBTA on Sunday from my LFS. I got it home acclimated it and put it in my tank and in about three hours it split. So now I have two, one that's kind of small and one that is big and doing well. The other small one seems to be all closed up and not doing as well as the other any tips or ideas on what to do to help it along. Also I fed both of the anemones a piece of krill and they both ate it. I will post a pic shortly to help give you guys a better idea and see what you all think I should do. Thanks a lot!!

When anemones are stressed it is completely normal for it to split. If this literally just happened then most likely that one you're worried about is just recovering. I mean think about it if you were split in half would you be very happy about it? Anyways don't worry about it, its completely normal. Another typical time this may happen is during water changes. They will be fine and because of this you basically got another free anemone! or you could sell it for some more cash ;)

Do not feed them. An anemone must divide part of it's gut to complete the clone therefore the digestional track needs to heal before you feed. Give the anemone weeks before you feed.
Anemones split for two reasons, one is self preservation, introduction to a new system with different chemistry can cause one to clone. It would be a good idea to check all of your chemistry. The make up of the tank they came from could have been vastly different.
Just leave the anemones be for a week or more, watch water quality/chemistry, provide adequate lighting.

They are certainly a beautiful color, good luck.

What he said ^^. Techinically btas don't need to be fed. I've had some I didn't feed and they thrived as well as the ones I did.

Best advice for BTAs is let them do what you whatever they want to do! :-) They're like a toddler...gonna do whatever they want to do no matter what you try to get them to do.
