I've had this bta for a couple weeks now and it's looked great, but the past few days one side of it has closed up and is sliding over. Is it splitting? I just did a water change yesterday. The first pic is It now, the second one is what it has been looking like

I just checked salinity, it's around 1.026. 78° steady. I have about 1100 gph total flow in a 20 gallon tank. Its about 9 months old. I don't test alk or mg as I only have softies

Not sure if salinity is a bit too high but one thing you'll learn about BTAs is that they'll do whatever they want whenever they want. I may just be on the move trying to find just the right lighting / flow. I'd cover the powerheads with foam covers just in case.

Thanks. That's the thing though, one side of his foot hasnt moved. The other is getting wider.

Turns out he was just moving. He was apparently pushing himself through a tiny hole.
