Hi I purchased 2 anemones about 6 days ago from a local fish store and the guy there recommended them to me. I am a new to the reef hobby I have a 5 gal tank and have attempted to feed them trout, salmon, and scallops. They grabbed onto the trout but later released it and would not grab the salmon or scallops. What should I be feeding them and how?

How long has the tank been up and running? A 5 gallon generally isn't big enough for one anemone, let alone two as they can get pretty big. Any plans to upgrade to a bigger tank in the future? If you just added them i'd give them time to adjust, trying to feed them can stress them out more then they probably already are. If you have adequate lighting, you don't even need to really feed them.

You said you are new to the hobby , I hope your tank has been running for more than a year and you plan on upgrading . If not try to return them

I would recommend returning them as well. That's way to small... unless you're talking about maxi-mini nems. In which case you're fine... those things are super hardy and don't get big.
