Hi,

I'm new to reefing and just got my first Coral. I got a Pink Tipped Anemone.

Should I be worried if I've had it for 2 days and it has walked into a cave the first 2 hours of having it and after 2 days it has never come out of the cave? It seems to be moving around in the cave but I had suspected it was trying to get light. Not darkness.

Should I go in an move it? Or wait for it to move on it's own?

An anemone is not a coral. Did you research it or was this an impulse buy? They need a stable tank about a year old and adequate lighting to be successfully kept.

You should leave it alone for a week or 2. Dont try to feed it or move it, just let it settle. If it stops somewhere you dont like, you can move the rock it's on or encourage it to move by changing flow. But for now, leave everything the same. Good luck!

Yes it was an impulse buy. I think I might try to return it.

I did some research on it and it said it can be eaten/bothered by scarlet hermit crabs (which I bought 3 of), and it can eat shrimp (I also bought a blood shrimp). So it kind of screwed me in two ways.

But at least it goes well with my clownfish! (I think, I read though it eats fish too so hopefully it doesn't try to swallow them).

So I bought 4 animals and depending what I read on the internet it all sounds like all of the creatures I bought interact poorly with it. I guess you gotta do your research.

None of the crabs/shrimp/fish will be a problem with a bubble-tip. You are fine there. As far as it moving, it’s probably just acclimating itself to your tank.

What are your parameters and how did you/did you acclimate it? No judgement here, I throw most stuff directly into my tank......

Is it for sure a BTA?

Shrimp and crabs wont bother a bubble tipped Anemone but you should still return it as doesn't sound like your tank is ready for that yet. Do you have any fish in your tank? What are you feeling your crabs and shrimp.

Don’t worry if it’s anything like my anemones it will find a place it likes and that will b a place u don’t want it. Lol
