I purchased a beautiful anemone from a forum member here who happens to be local. Picked it up on Sunday, 30 minute drive home, floated in bag for 20 minutes, then acclimated over about 45 minutes since my salinity and the bag salinity were different.
I think my lighting is acceptable (4-bulb T5). Flow is moderate to low in most places. I placed the anemone up high, thinking it is used to stronger light and flow. I realize they can move if needed. It looked good for the first day.
The next morning I saw it had moved all the way across the tank and it now in a cave with minimal light. It's been there for 2 days now. It's smaller but otherwise extended a bit and looks fine in the cave.
I just wanted to verify that this is normal or not. I assume it will come out soon and acclimate itself to the flow and light. What can I expect from this thing? Thanks.
BTW, parameters as of last night are
1.025 salinity
7.3 ALK (I've been keeping it closer to 7)
400 calcium
1350 mag
0 nitrate
78-79 degrees
